House on 50 Acres & 2 Self Contained Cottages 105 Palmers Road, OYSTER COVE TAS 7150
A peaceful, private 50 acre bush property in the forested hills of Oyster Cove with abundant native bird and wildlife and three self-contained dwellings. First time on the market in thirty years this natural paradise of mostly temperate forest includes a subdividable North facing hill with water views.
The main house built in 1994 is a stylish Tasmanian Oak clad 3 bedroom home with open plan living area and oak flooring, wood fired/electric hydronic heating and under floor heating in the kitchen and office underneath.
The skylights in the main bedroom and over the large spa bath in the bathroom are wonderful for star gazing on clear nights. The well designed timber kitchen is a cook’s dream with elevated fridge and dishwasher, wall oven, roll out chopping bench and fabulous storage bins. Ducted vacuum system throughout ensures an easy clean. The house is finished inside with non-toxic paints giving it a warm and healthy vibe. The dado lining and architraves were milled from Silver Wattle trees on the property and showcase the beautiful features in this underutilised local timber. There is plenty of hot water with a massive hot water tank and solar hot water system. A rare feature is the wood fired steam engine used to generate back up power if desired and there is a generous storage/office area underneath the house.
The two smaller timber cottages currently accommodation venues on airbnb have a bespoke rustic charm and are also perfect for artist/writers studios or extended family. There are fruit trees, various small fruits, abundant blueberries plus a vegetable patch, all in wire caged structures to protect your delicious home grown harvest from the wildlife. Additional work shop, chook house, wood shed and a couple of other sheds are a bonus and there are plenty of water tanks and a spring fed dam. Around the garden you’ll find unique hand built stone and water features and in the valley a mossy creek with giant man ferns and a miniature waterfall in winter.
From every window in the buildings on this property you will see only lush green forest and no neighbours giving a remote feel even though you are only 10 minutes to Snug, 10 minutes to Kettering, 15 minutes to Woodbridge and an easy 35 minute commute to Hobart.
The private road access to this property is shared with just two other properties with an automatic security gate entrance. An amazing bush paradise that has just been recently listed on the market.
